I’m Ella, a second-year construction architect student. I spent the summer of 2026 as an intern at Nordic BIM Group, where I had the opportunity to gain a versatile insight into both Archicad modeling and the everyday work of technical customer support. The internship allowed me to apply the skills I had developed during my studies in practice and learn a great deal from my skilled colleagues.
My interest in Nordic BIM Group was sparked by a school visit from the company. After the visit, I wanted to apply for a internship because the opportunity to develop my BIM skills and work with Archicad felt exactly like the kind of experience I was hoping for from my first internship in a office environment. One of the most interesting tasks during my internship was modeling a house model for training purposes using Archicad. During the project, I was able to deepen my modeling skills and learned to make use of features such as Design Options in Archicad. It was motivating to notice how my confidence in using the software grew throughout the internship.
In addition to modeling, I worked as a substitute in technical customer support. Although the role was initially a little intimidating, it turned out to be a very educational experience, as I had the opportunity to solve questions related to Archicad and SketchUp licenses as well as software use together with customers. At the same time, I learned a great deal about software, problem-solving and customer service.
Alongside these tasks, I completed the company’s own eLearning courses as well as the Archicad and SketchUp basic courses, which I found to be very comprehensive and versatile.

During the summer, I gained confidence in my own skills, learned new ways of working and had the opportunity to see everyday life at Nordic BIM Group from many different perspectives. What particularly stayed with me from the internship was the warm and encouraging working atmosphere and the pleasant working environment. The office’s modern and tidy facilities made working enjoyable, while the possibility of remote work provided a suitable amount of flexibility to everyday life.
I would like to thank my internship supervisors and the entire work community for their support, guidance and warm welcome. The internship strengthened my interest in working with BIM and gave me a great deal of valuable knowledge and experience that I will be able to make use of both in my studies and in my future working life.
