Archicad 30: less friction in the work you do every day

Graphisoft's theme for Archicad 30 is "making everyday work smoother". It is a modest promise, and that is exactly why we like it. Most of the time lost in a BIM project does not go to the big design decisions. It goes to scrolling through long lists, waiting for views to switch and building layer workarounds to make a drawing look right. Archicad 30 goes after those minutes, and the updates help with routine tasks as much as with the largest and most complex BIM projects.

Archicad 30 is now available to our customers. Below is what we think matters most in your daily work, what your subscription includes and where Graphisoft is heading with AI.

A new release rhythm

Archicad 30 changes how new features reach you. What you get now depends on your subscription: Archicad Studio or Archicad Collaborate, with Archicad Max launching later this year. Not everything arrives at once either. Graphisoft now rolls out new capabilities through the year, such as Nemetschek Creator for early-stage and conceptual design, which becomes available later this year. From 2026, new Archicad licenses are sold as subscriptions only.

Faster where you notice it

Switching views with Design Options and Renovation filters is up to 90 percent faster in certain operations. If you work on renovation projects or compare design alternatives, that is a wait you meet many times a day. Point clouds also respond faster when you navigate and work with them.

Search instead of scroll

Tool Settings and the Info Box now have search fields. Type the name of a classification or property and go straight to it. The Project Info dialog is redesigned, with folders you can drag and drop, inline editing, search and direct mapping to IFC Project, IFC Site and IFC delegates.

In the Navigator you can now organize the Project Map in your own subfolders and give each folder its own publisher set. Windows users also get native Dark Mode, which Mac users already have. For teams working in Teamwork, every attribute now records who created it and when. When something unexpected turns up in the attribute list, you can see where it came from.

Drawings that come out the way you meant them

Several smaller changes add up to fewer workarounds in documentation:

  • Walls that span several stories get their own "Show on Stories" setting, so you no longer need layer tricks to control where they appear.

  • Dimension witness lines can be set node by node, with their own line type (dotted or sketchy, for example), extension and pen color.

  • Labels get more framing shapes, high-DPI support and better text wrapping in keynote legends.

  • Stairs and railings can show the structure and the finish separately. Model View Options is also reorganized with visual previews.

Open BIM in both directions

Archicad 30 extends IFC4x3 support and transfers spatial zones through IfcSpatialZone. Import of Revit families (RFA) is improved, which helps when manufacturers or partners only deliver objects in that format. Archicad also connects directly to Autodesk Forma.

BIMcloud gets two practical additions. You can share files externally through public links without the recipient needing a license, and an emergency mode keeps the team working during network outages. If you are moving many Teamwork projects, the new Bulk Teamwork Migration Tool from Graphisoft migrates several projects on a BIMcloud in one pass and keeps hotlinks aligned.

MEP Designer for building services

MEP Designer is included in Archicad Collaborate and runs inside Archicad or on its own. In this version, MEP routes reconnect automatically when the architectural model changes, and you can show the architectural model transparent while you route. Hydronic calculations now cover cooling systems, and the first version of electrical power distribution modeling, with panels and distribution, is in place. For contractors and multidisciplinary teams, this means fewer broken connections every time the model changes.

What your subscription includes

Archicad Studio is for individuals and small teams working from one office. It includes Archicad for design and documentation in your local language, BIMcloud Basic for Teamwork, BIMx and the essential AI features. Studio subscribers also get ProKit Core, four selected productivity tools that include Annotate, Transformer and Detailment.

Archicad Collaborate is for growing practices and multidisciplinary teams. On top of Studio, you get several language versions, BIMcloud SaaS, MEP Designer, BIMx Pro with Teamwork, agentic AI features and early access to Nemetschek Creator. Collaborate subscribers get ProKit Suite, which adds 11 more tools on top of ProKit Core.

Archicad Max launches later this year. It is aimed at large and international practices, with all local language versions, the highest AI allowance, full access to Nemetschek Creator and the full ProKit Suite. We will share the Nordic details once it is available.

AI that takes the repetitive work, not the decisions

Graphisoft keeps building AI into its products. The idea is that AI takes over repetitive drafting and the hunt for information spread across files and folders. Design decisions, craftsmanship and professional responsibility stay with the people doing the work.

Later this year, Graphisoft will introduce two new AI capabilities in Archicad:

  • Archicad MCP (beta): lets AI assistants and desktop AI tools connect directly to the model, so you can query it, select and navigate elements and make bulk edits in natural language.

  • AI Assistant Spaces: organize your project documentation into a knowledge base, then pull out insights or carry out tasks based on the project's own content.

Two larger pieces are also on the way. Nemetschek Creator is a browser-based workspace for early massing studies, with live feedback on carbon, cost, microclimate and daylight before detailed modeling starts. Early access opens on 28 October. The Open Collaboration Platform is an open data layer, based on OpenAPI, that connects Graphisoft, Solibri, Bluebeam, dRofus, Allplan and Autodesk Forma. The AI Visualizer, which creates photorealistic concept images straight from the 3D model, also gets an updated image engine.

Archicad MCP will arrive as a beta and Creator starts as early access. Our advice is to try them on a real but non-critical project before you build them into how your team works.
