This free, self-paced course gets you from a fresh LAND4 install to real work in your first Archicad project. You set up the add-on, learn your way around the tools, bring surveyor map data into Archicad, work with new and existing terrain, and create new surfaces. Delivered as eLearning, taken at your own pace. It assumes you already work in Archicad and have LAND4, bought or on a trial.
Who it's for
One course for Archicad users taking their first steps with LAND4. It assumes you have the Archicad basics, so if you are new to Archicad, start with Archicad Fundamentals. You also need LAND4, bought or on a trial; if you do not have it yet, see the product first. Pick the situation that sounds like you.
You just licensed LAND4 and want a clean start
You bought the license and want to use it properly from day one. You learn to install and set up LAND4 in Archicad, then put it to work in a real project instead of guessing your way through the tools.
You are trialling LAND4 and want to see what it does
You are testing LAND4 on the free trial and want a real sense of the workflow. The course walks you through the main tools and a practical project, so you can judge the fit before you commit.
You get surveyor map data and need it inside Archicad
Landscape work starts with someone else's data. You learn to bring map data into Archicad from SOSI, XYZ, and LandXML files, and turn it into terrain you can actually work with.
You design outdoor space and work in Archicad
You handle landscape and outdoor design and want it in the same model as the building. You learn to model new and existing terrain and create surfaces in Archicad with LAND4. Training a team? Talk to an advisor.
What you'll learn
By the end you can install LAND4, move around its tools with confidence, bring in surveyor map data, work with new and existing terrain, and create new surfaces, all in your Archicad project. Here is the scope.
The course starts where you do, with a fresh add-on. You learn how to acquire LAND4 and install it into Archicad, check it is set up correctly, and get to the point where you can open a project and start working. No prior LAND4 experience assumed.
LAND4 adds its own tools to Archicad. You get a clear walk through what each main tool does and when to reach for it, so the palette stops being a wall of unfamiliar icons and becomes something you can navigate.
Landscape work starts with site data. You learn to import map data into Archicad from the SOSI, XYZ, and LandXML formats, establish it in the project, and set it up as the base your terrain is built on. In Norway that includes SOSI; the same workflow takes the formats used in your market.
Most sites already have terrain to account for. You learn to work with both existing terrain and new terrain in LAND4, and to move between them as the design develops, so the model reflects a precise solution rather than a simplified assumption.
Surfaces are where the landscape takes shape. You learn to create new surfaces in LAND4 and put them to use in a real project, so you finish the course with the core moves you repeat on every landscape job.
